Standaart 2 manual - 7 unit organ installed for the grand re-opening on Saturday
29th June 1929 (after the desasterous fire of December 13th 1928 which gutted
the stage end of the einsma)
Percy Milton was billed -"AT THE MIGHTY STANDAART ORGAN" and the orchestra was
condueted by John Russell.
The film shown was "The Burgomaster Of Stilemonde" starring 8ir John Martin
Harvey.Seats at 6d 9d & 1/- downstairs and 1/6 and 2/4 Dress Circle.
The organ chamber situated over the proceneum. arch and contained the following
ranks:Tibia , Concert Flute, Diapason,Vox Humana, Salicional,Violin Celeste and
Saxophone.
Percussions included;-Vibraphone, Glockenspiel, Xylophone and Chimes.
Besides the ususl traps,drums etc. there were such effects as "Wind" and "Rain".
Originally the console was set at the left side of the stage at floor level.
In 1932 a considerable amount of money was spent on the organ and the console
was moved to the centre in front of the stage,raised slightiy and glasss panels
built around it.
